Safety tips

LampLit makes it easy to say “come on over”. A little care keeps it easy.

Add only people you know

• LampLit checks a phone number, not a person. It doesn’t check names, ages or backgrounds.
• Accept requests only from people you already know in person.
• Your streets decide who sees each light. Keep a street small if you like.

You’re always free to say no

• A light is an invitation, not a promise. “Not right now” needs no reason.
• Turn your light off at any time. Nobody is told why.
• Block anyone who makes you uneasy. They aren’t told.

Before a visit

• Your address goes to a friend only when you say “Come on over”.
• Once it’s sent, it can’t be taken back.
• Going somewhere new? Tell someone where you’ll be.
• Meet somewhere else if you’d rather not host. Your light can say so.

If something goes wrong

• In an emergency, call 911. LampLit is not an emergency service.
• Report the person from their sheet, or email support@mylamplit.com.
• A person reads every report.
